Check your Wi-Fi connection.
Make sure your home Wi-Fi network is working properly:
- Confirm other devices (phone, laptop, tablet) can connect to Wi-Fi.
- Ensure your internet service is active.
- Verify you are using a 2.4 GHz network if required.
Tip: Weak or unstable Wi-Fi signals are the most common cause of connection errors.
Restart your charger.
Power cycling the charger can often resolve temporary connection issues:
- Turn off the charger at the breaker panel.
- Wait at least 30 seconds.
- Turn the breaker back on.
Allow a few minutes for the charger to reconnect to your Wi-Fi network.
Restart your router.
If the issue persists, restart your internet router:
- Unplug your router from power.
- Wait 30β60 seconds.
- Plug it back in and wait for the connection to fully restore.
Once your Wi-Fi is back online, check the Ivy app to confirm the charger reconnects.
Improve signal strength.
If your charger is far from your router, signal strength may be too weak.
Consider:
- Moving your router closer to the charger.
- Installing a Wi-Fi extender.
- Upgrading your home network equipment.
For best performance, the charger should receive a strong and stable Wi-Fi signal.
How to troubleshoot Wi-Fi connection indicator.
If the connection is successful, the Wi-Fi network UC_Smart_[ChargerSerial#] will no longer be discoverable. Additionally, the indicator light on the charger will alternate between blue and cyan.
How to troubleshoot password.
Verify that the Wi-Fi password entered matches the Wi-Fi network settings exactly. The charger will recycle the connection if password information is incorrect.
The password limit for the charger is 38 characters. The charger will not connect to Wi-Fi networks with passwords longer than this limit.
